Starting problems
Wife's 320 suddenly decided not to start. No indication of problem before-hand. Will almost start, but even with a squirt of starting fluid, will not stay running. I checked fuses and swapped relay with other of same part number. Fuel pump does not appear to be running. I am assuming that it is just under the driver's side rear seat and I should be able to hear it when the key is on. How do I access the fuel pump to see if it is getting power or runs when it does? Is there anything I should look to first?
Thanks in advance for the help.

I pulled the pump. It is getting voltage to the pump when the key is in the start position. Molex connector is melted on the pump side (inside tank).
One thing I noticed that is odd is that if the key is turned to start and then just let go, not turned back to run the starter continues to crank for 5 or so seconds. Is this normal? It is longer than a short or something like that, and seems to be consistent in duration and it also seems to happen every time.
Thanks for the link. Taking the seats out was the most difficult part.
on edit - What parts need replacing? The pump and filter are original. While there I should replace the filter. Where is the best place to source these?

What you are encountering is tip start, this is normal checking for power can be done at connector on frame rail left rear wheel(also check for corrosion) but I suspect the pump. What year is this?
