Anyone succesful in eliminating torsion bars?

So I need to replace my shocks and springs and all the bushings... At 120k miles I think its beyond overdue. I was wondering if anyone has been able to eliminate the Torsion bar and install springs to do the same thing.

There was some talk that renntech had a kit they were developing to do it, anyone know if there was truth to it? Maybe Kleeman or any of the other tuners? I bet it would be a hot seller as ride comfort would increase 10 fold...

from all of my readings, Only renntech offered a all coilover kit for ML. I believe they discontinued the product by now.

If you are adventure enough. download the Koni Catalog in PDF and go over the Coilover racing shocks then figure out what you need. They have adjustable perch and different size springs with spring rates available in the catalog and the cost is reasonable too.

Another option is to go Air strut or air cylinder. Dont know if the ML have enough room for a it because it usually need about 4" or more diameter clearance around the air strut or cylinder. It will prob cost near $1000+ for all four if you can get the right parts and compressor and air management. good thing is that it will be totally height adjustable base on air pressure.

I would prefer the shock and spring set up to air ride...
