What oil should I use
I own a 98 ML320 and I am not sure what type of oil to use.
I have people tell me that 10W-30 is too thin for a car with 72K
miles, other people tell me 10W-30 is fine. I have always used a full synthetic oil like Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec but with so many different opinions I am not sure if I should use a thicker oil.

MB at this time suggests Mobil 1, 0-40. Thats what I would use. Lots of contreversy re conventional oil and a class action suit re engine sludge. Your engine is warranted to 150000 miles for any sludge related damage as a result of this suit.

Trying to buy 0W-40 Mobil 1 might be hard from your local auto parts store. I only find Mobil 1 0W-40 for sell at your dealer only.
Currently I use Motul (frech oil) 0W-40 full-synthetic from Motulusa.com
Those guys even sent me a letter showing Mercedes approval of this oil.
If you order a case (12 bottles) then they might be nice and give you club racer price.
