ML 320 or BMW x5 overall???

ML 320 or BMW x5 overall???
I'm thinking of trading in my ML,to another ml 320 '02 or up OR an BMW x5 3.0i'01 or up. and the price are not far apart.
Can you guys help me out:
LOOKs? , Performance?, Reliability?, Quality?, Exterior accessories? which is better, both models are made in the usa. so i would be prepared for the less quality issues. and i dont like my current ML'99 just cost too much to modify and upgrade to look like the current ml. so i decided to just trade it in and pay the extra's to get a newer ML.
I also was planning to get an ML 320 sport package, and change the mags to an 17 inch AMG wheels. OR BMW x5 planning to get a sport package and paint the lower front and rear bumber so it would look more like the 4.6is model. so what you guys prefer?
manufacture accessories: accessories that i want.
xenon lights, sport package, sunroof, 6-disc player, (the accessorieas that i would get from the dealer). other than the amg mags and the paint job. my estimation price was $70~ canadian. (this not include taxs and shipment)

I'm a little bit confused here. It costs too much to upgrade the looks of the 99 to MY02 and you are willing to do 17" and even go as far as painting bumpers on the X5? Something's not right. Anyway, ditch the upgrade plans, not worth it!!! MY02, 03 ML's are far better than even the 01 trucks.
Now, it really depends on what your intended use is. If the current ML satisfies you in terms of looks, performance, utility and appeal, then upgrade to a ML500 and you will not regret it.
If, on the other hand, you want something a little more sporty, but more cramped than your current ML, then go Bimmer.
As far as reliability, they are practically the same. Also, make sure you check out the Bimmer dealer. How do they compare with your current Mb dealer. It may make a whole lot of difference if the dealer sucks.
My choice, would be the ML500 w/3rd row plus the 19" ML55 rims/tire package.

2020 S560,14 ml350, 03 sl55, silver, pano, slr cams, evo headers, lsd, 2019 s63 cab.
got rid of my x-5 because of the seating comfort. need long arms and short legs to fit. also no good arm rest. check this out before switching.
