ML320 D-pillar peeling

Hi guys,

I have 2001 ML320 with 92K miles on it and both D-pillars have
the clear/shiny coating peeling off, kinda like skin peeling after
sunburn, and it looks really crappy. Has anyone experienced this
and found a solution other than the dealer replacing them? I
was able to find a thread at Edmunds where someone said the
dealer quoted $250/ea to replace them....crazy!

Thanks

The same thing was happening to me on my 2000 ML430. I got a local body shop to sand them and put a clear coat on them. They look brand new and cost me $40 out the door.
