Seat not working.

The entire passenger seat controls do not work, I took the car to the dealer, they said its the entire seat "computer". Has anyone had this problem? What if I simply replaced the seat controls?

check the connector under the seat.....

it often gets kicked and comes unplugged - but it also triggers the airbag warning light as I recall, so this may not be your problem. But worth checking none the less.

w163 ML270 CDI Inspiration
Agree with TIMDF - I have had problems with both front seats (neither would move at all), and eventually traced problem to disconnected cables beneath each seat. Both seats worked fine once the cable was plugged back in, but they still come detached occasionally. The cables are very exposed, and seem to get disconnected easily - feet / vacuum / moving seat forward and back.
Hopefully this is all that is wrong - otherwise you are facing replacing the modules.

W163 ML320
Hi all, I have a 98 ml320, and when i turn it on, the srs light goes on for a minute, and goes away. this has been happening since i got it washed a couple of weeks ago, so im suspecting something got loose while vacuuming. However, i don't know which wire is the one that can trigger this light. Any suggestions/ideas? Thanks

my driver seat power buttons not working

My driver seat power buttons are not working. It was working fine about an hour earlier. The passenger seat works fine. I checked the cables underneath the seat, but didn't see anything unplugged. I'm not sure what to look for. I'll try to find the culprit in the daytime.

Rear seat problem '03 ML 500

I broke the left rear seat release cable, something fell out of a shopping bag and ended up under the seat. A few days later I put the seat down and that was the end of the release cable. Anyway, I am going to replace the cable. Dealer wants $313.00 installed. I am going to do the repair myself. Anybody ever do this repair? Any tips?
Thanks in advance.

Both seats not workingW163 2000 ML320

Both driver and passenger seats not working. Checked the connections under seats and both fuses; all appear to be OK.
The relay on that fuse panel feels warm to the touch, I switched it with the rear heated window relay, no change ... the replaced relay now feel warm too. Any significance you can think of? ... any other ideas for me to check?

TIA,
DanlK

Fuse panel for power seats is on the interior passenger side firewall at the floor.
It appears moisture and/or corrosion over the years has in some way shorted out the power seat fuse panel; current was OK coming in, but no current going out to the seats.
Plug # 163-545-30-28 was replaced, and seats are now working.

There are two 30amp fuses UNDER the fuse box in the engine compartment. If the seat just stopped working completely it could be one of those. You have to unbolt the fuse box cover and look down by the ebox fan and you'll see them.
