Power steering failure

Got first new set of brakes on our (Feb.) '00 ML430 at 28,000 miles. Picked her up today. A few hours later, power steering was suddenly and terminally lost while rounding a corner in a busy intersection (near disaster), fluid leaking under hood. Now she's back at the shop again...

Anyone else have a power steering failure on ML?

Angry power steering probs

Yes, I have had my power steering pump replaced.
I have a 2000 ML 430. I have also had brakes pads replaced which started squeaking at 3500 miles. I had the fuel pump replaced and can't wait to see what is next. Everything has been covered under warranty...minus the brake pads ($575.00) I also purchased an extended warranty just for these threats.
Good Luck

That happened to me today, I was turning a corner after a stop sign and had a sudden droning sound. Parked it and looked under the front left side of the car, saw oil dripping out. I didn't hit anything or go on any rough roads.

How long does it take to replace the pump?

Turns out it was the hose and clamp only. Had it replaced in a little over an hour. A replacement hose with a larger clamp. Steering still does feel a little funny at the end points.
