2001 ml 320 tempature rising only slightly

ok, my temp is usually at right at 81-84 degress. TOday it has risen to 90 degrees steadily. Whether im driving or at idle itll go to almost 90 all of the time. I always notice things like this. It has rose only very slightly. When I rev my engine it doesnt affect anything, still remains at the 90. I dont know if its the thermostate or water pump , or even temp sensor. Any input is much appreciated. Its not even coming close to 100 degrees, but just today it started this. Should i be concerned????

I would just keep an eye on the temp for a while and see if it continues to rise. 90 Deg. should be no problem at this point. My ML500 climbed to just below 90 a few weeks ago but now it's back to just over 80.
By the way -- I love your beer.

2001 ML320 fully loaded except the damn navigation sytem.
That was a concern to me for a while also. I actually called the dealer about this issue and he told me that the needle will rise and fall, especially when its idle and especially when the ac is off. But he told me as long as the needle dont go past a certain point (which is im assuming 90) i have nothing to worry about. Also a rule of thumb is if you dont smell any coolant or see any smoke from under the hood, dont stress it too much.

Its your fan clutch, replace and you'll be fine.. A way to test the fan clutch is try spinning it, if there's friction then its okay. But if you don't encounter resistance, then its bad..
