EGR Tube Removal Magic?
I am trying to remove the EGR tube from my 98 ML320. I have all of the E-Bolts removed and the EGR valve and tube are free. I can't seem to get the tube out of the manifold no matter how I twist it. I always hit some interference (the throttle body mostly) before I can get it past the first bend.
I have read through most of the threads and everyone seems to say just snake this thing out, I have been working at it for about 30 minutes and can't find the magic angle to get it out for cleaning
These pictures on Benzworld have been helpful

As is normal, 60 seconds after I posted the question I figured out the answer. There is a vacuum port on the top of the throttle body that has a large vacuum connector (dual port). Pop that off and move it aside and you have all the clearance you need.
The EGR tube was completely obstructed. I cleaned the first inch or so inside the tube using a battery terminal cleaner then blew the rest out with a compress (my lungs). The EGR valve seems a bit sticky but moved, I am not sure how sticky is acceptable. I will probably end up doing this job again once I can get some real brushes and cleaners.
Unfortunately the CEL (P0400) did not clear. Does this need to be reset electronically?
