squealing noise from fron wheel
I had my car at the dealership to change the front light and the front defoger needed to be fixed. a day after I got my car back I noticed there is a squealing noise coming from the front wheel on driver side. the noise is there nomatter if i'm braking or not.There wasn't any noise while backing at first but It happend eventually. any Idea what it could be?

I also had a squealing from my driver's side wheel area with same situation: it was there is I braked or not. Could not figure it out and since it is still under warranty, I called AAA to tow to dealer (did not want to cause any more problems). AAA guy suggested might be a stone or something stuck between the rotor and it's cover. He took off the front wheel and worked out a small stone that was trapped (and making the noise).You might want to try looking there.

brake pad sensor???? check your brake pads maybe its time for replacement, or wheel bearing might be shot...my rear wheel bearing went and I had squealing noise all the time...

I wanted to share a squeeking noise I had coming from the rear of my 1999 ML430 for a good 6 months now. Dealership could never figure out what it was or where it was coming from, but I heard it all the time. Of course they could never reproduce the noise. 
This past week I brought my ML in for rear pads and rotors. While doing that job they found the parking brake was somehow broken. They said it works kinda like those old drum brakes and something came loose and was rubbing on the rotor. They fixed the parking brake and all is well now. So if anyone has an annoying squeek coming from the rear it may be the parking brake causing it.
I'm just happy they got rid of that annoying noise.
