BAS/ESP lights are on... and ETS!
hi!
BAS/ESP lights are on! i have a ML 320 99...and i try to go to the dealer with an extented warranty ...of course they tried to charge me a diagnose fee $360 and in case that the warranty administrator don't aprrove for that particular part I have to pay more...i think i gonna call the warranty company and i'm just gonna take my money back. i have one year since i bought the warranty and the car and i didn't used it for a penny!

does the light go off after you drive the car? I have an E320 older model (2000) and it used to turn on. My brother's CLK320(99) the lights used to come on too randomly.
My ML500 the light also comes on sometimes.
All of them you just turn off the car and later it is ok.

FYI, i used to even get so annoyed at the lighting BAS/ETS light that i used to shift the car to neutral on the freeway when nobody's around and on a straight, turn of the car and turn it on, it will go away.

Brake light switch is the most common cause for this problem. If its not that spend the money to have it diagnosed by the dealer. In any case, get it fixed ASAP as these are important safety systems and they are disabled when the lights are on.

There is too many parts that will cause the light to go on.
ABS unit > lateral acceleration sensor > Yaw Sensor > brake switch > Steering angle sensor, Wheel speed sensor.
DAS computer will see what sensor has failed. My dealer charged 1 hr for diagnoses which is $125 an hr.

brake light switch
thank you everyone for your advices...
this weekend i'm gonna fix it ,i'll start with the brake switch and then with the sensors.
i paid for the top of the line extented warranty ,it covers everything but i'm
sick going back to the dealership.$500 just for inspection...thank's but NO!
seems like when i start the engine if i step on the brake when i'm doing this the BAS ESP and ETS lights are off, then when i lift the foot ...my dashbord look's like a Christmas tree.
i think is the BLS !
thank you! guys
