ML Navi Voice

I just installed a navi drive on the MCS. Everthing seems to work as far as mapping goes but I,m getting no voice instructions, just a pause and a bit of static.
Any ideas.
Thanks

Bad nav drive or bad disc.

Try this. push the NAV VOICE button, the one on the bottom, to repeat the last nav voice prompt and just after you hit the button rotate the volume control to increase the volume. The nav volume is independent of the radio volume and can only be adjusted while the nav is currently speaking. You must be in nav mode and currently navigation to somewhere. You will know when the Nav Voice is speeking when the radio volume is muted.

That may be correct, however it does not have anything to do with the static he is hearing, thus my response above.

I'm afraid Sosh is right, turning up the volume just made the static louder. But thank you for the input.

That can easily be overlooked.
