2000 SL500
new to the M
my mom just picked up an 01 ml 320. its a dark blue/purple i believe the color is opal with tan interior. has the navi/ heated seats....62k miles...i just have a few questions....
1) I noticed the engine is FAIRLY similar to the w208 clk 320 i had...is it the same?
2) windows do not go down automatically...how can i reset so they do?
3) it says no navigation installed? anywhere i can get a cd or something for this?
4) how can i change the time on the display???'
5) the steering is very loose, is this common with all MLs? soft suspension?

When you open the front of the radio, I am assuming it's a MCS 1 do you see a CD slot above the cassette slot. If not you do not have a Navi drive installed.
As far as the time on the istrument panel the stalk of the right adjust the time.

1) The ML and W208 CLK both used the same M112 engine I believe.
2) Do you have a manual for the truck? It has instructions on how to synch the windows. If not, try searching the forum.
3) geoffreymfarmer covered it. You need to have the navigation drive installed.
4) geoffreymfarmer got this as well. Right knob thing in the cluster, pull and twist right for minutes, left for hours.
5) How do you mean by loose? Keep in mind the ML was designed with light to moderate off roading in mind so the steering will give a little more play than other cars and it doesn't return to center as quickly as other cars as well.

there is no cd slot above the cassette drive for the navi...i got the time fixed now thanks...i do have manual i will check on how to reset the windows...thanks again guys!

2001 ML320 fully loaded except the damn navigation sytem.
i have that exact same truck, color and all. No it doesnt come with the navi. As far as steering, its average to me. Youve already solved the time problem which is one of the knobs in the dash. Suspension, with mine, i feel every bump in the road. I cant tell you about loose steering, to each his own, if you mean loose like a 84 caprice classic, then thats a problem.
