Keys Part 2 - Re-Case

I have two keys to my 99 ML320 that work fine but they are very beaten-up. Has anyone bought keys off of ebay (or other) and swaped out the guts for a new case?

With my Audi I thought it was possible, MB, not so sure.

My dealer did this for me on Monday, so I know that it can be done. The panic button was missing and 5 minutes later it was brand new!
