trunk release

why is there a button for the trunk release on the key on the 2002 ml 320. i have pressed it and nothing happens and isn't the hatch manual anyway?

the button is to only unlock the trunk, if u want to keep the rest of the doors locked.

Alright thanks. I should read the manual one day (its not my car though which is why i haven't gotten around to reading it yet)...

still seems kind of useless to me, but thats just me

Having the rear gate release would be fun. Instantly knocking off someone's jaw when they are peeping around your car!

arghhh ... studying finals is not fun!
