Hello to all! My first time posting a question! I just bought a 2001 ML320 and love it. I purchaced a used set of 2005 ml350 (halogen) headlamps and went to install them today to find the wiring plug is different. What needs to be done to make this work? Where can I get a adapter plug? Can I make do with what I have......splice wiring?

the wiring is different for pre 02 MLs however it is a case of repining the connector diagram below for your halogens to work.

any advice for changing the pins and after that is done will the 2001 connector just plug in to the newer style headlamps? When I get my newer style headlamps in I will be selling my 2001 headlamps. they are in excellent condition, please email me for info. wildzeus@hotmail.com

The pins are easy to pull out and re insert with a small needle nose pliers but if not take it to any auto electrician and they will be able to do it. After it is done you will be able to plug into the newer 02 - 05 projector halogen headlamps. As for the old headlamps most people who have them are considerig to upgrade to the newer projector halogens so you might find them difficult to sell.
