Steel Grey 2012 ML350 is wife's
I've owned 5 w163 ml's in ten years. I still own a 1999 ml430, which has been an exceptional vehicle.. currently 85000 miles. I've owned 2002 ml320, which was the best gas mileage and best acceleration for any V6 ML I've owned and now regret trading up to 2005 ml350 SE. I just sold my 2005 ML500 SE, which was a good car too. The 1998 ml350 introduction model was lacking in looks and power.
So, in the end, ALL my ML's, 1999 up have been great cars... I highly recommend them all. Although nothing special about the 2005's and I've owned 2 of the SE's for more than 2 years each. Wife's V6 16mpg and my V8 was 15mpg. My 99 V8 is 14mpg. The 2002 V6 got 16-17mpg and faster acceleration than all other my V6's.
In Atlanta I generally drive a Mercury Mariner Hybrid, 34mpg AC on and 36mpg AC off city driving, flat country. Sweet.

Hi Thanks for your input!
I have about 127,000 on my 1999 ML and have about a year and a half to pay it off. Bought it used for my wife with about 99,000 on it. So far so good. My question would be should I try to up grade to a 2005 ML500 SE now before my credit takes a hit from my short sale or wait another 5-6 years til my credit gets better then upgrade? I prefer the V8 model and I really like the SE version. Gas mileage is not a big differance between V6 &
V8 on these cars so I'd rather have the more power. Do you think my ML could go another 5-6 years average miles per year with out any major problems?

Well, everyone has opinions, but I would NOT buy anything now. Cash is king and wait to buy once blood is in the streets. don't laugh.
