I am in the process of up-grading the audio system in my 99' ML430 but I cant seem to find the speaker amp that powers (and gives an enormous amount of electrical noise to) the speakers, but the only thing I can find is the bass unit below the driver seat.

is it in the dash, by the CD changer or am I just not looking in the right places?

Also, un-related when I turn on my ML and turn the wheels I get tons of noise I assume to be from the power steering, where is the resevoir for the PS fluid?

The Box Of Shaddy Electronics amp is behind the dash drivers side up high.

PS resivoir is on the drivers front of the motor.

oh, thats what Bose stands for? I thought it was; all highs all lows must be bose...

but anyway, I was hoping I wouldn't have to tear apart the dash to get to the amp, but if it must be done it must be done.

as for the reservoir, I think I see it but how do I check the level of my PS.. it makes an awful noise when the motor is cold

You do not need to remove the dash to get to the amp, it is just mounted high.

The PS resivoir dipstick is on the drivers side of the motor on the front the cap looks like a sunflower. It may be partially covered by the engine cover.
