1999 ML 430
Please Help!

I recently purchased a 99 ML 430 from a private party.......Well, about 2 1/2 weeks ago, my car would stall while idling at a stop light or such....since then it does this once a day at least, and it's obviously very frustrating.....The engine will crank, but not start.......I have to let it sit for at least 10 min before it will......There is no warning from the car, ie: check engine lights, maintenance light or anything of that nature.....I drive my daughter around in this vehicle, since its my primary car and its very frustating to know its gonna die on me.......Can anyone help with advice before I Have to take it to the dealership? Also, my A/C went out the second day I had the car, and in the middle 3 vents, I can hear a constant clicking noise, almost like a little motor running and clicking...Any ideas? Thx to all those that respond with advice or knowledge!

Crank position sensor. go to an autozone to get the codes from the car. if it is the cps it will give you pending codes. i know its that.

hmm, interesting. my best bet is a failing CPS. normally, the cases that i have seen with it is that either, you are stopped and the car turns off or you drive for a while and the car fails to start when the engine is "hot" then you would have to let it cool down and it would start later. i might have seen once that it was a fuel related problem. take the car to a shop and have a fuel pressure test done. also be sure to check the fuel pump visually to see if the connector is fried of something. hopefully it wont be fuel related, but only a CPS. the cost of a CPS is around $55 at http://www.autohausaz.com/

CPS does not throw a code. Re the other stuff, you bought a car thats coming up on 10 years old. If thats what you bought live with it and don't complain.

BTW the clicking noise is the Air Blend Motor. i have the same problem. you can buy the part at the dealer for around 150 and do a DIY
