Help! Hood Locked and won't open

Help! Hood Locked and won't open

Went to change my oil this morning on my 00' Ml430, and went to pull the hood release inside the truck and hood would not pop up. I've tried pushing up and down on the the hood while someone is inside pulling on the release...did not work. I've grabbed the cable with pliers and pulled on it incase it was stuck... did not work. I have search around on this forum and others to see if others have had this problem with no luck. Does anyone know how to access the latch from outside the vehicle to pop the hood?
