squeek in dash

I am reporting on an annoying noise I talked about before. It is a styrofoam type sound from the dash next to the windshield. I believe I have found and solved the problem after many attempts by the dealer. The vent cover around the wipers on the outside and butting against the windshield seems to be the culprit. The rubber lining on the piece rests against the windshield and I believe that when it is cold (expecially) that it rubs when there is vibration from the road or whatever. I placed felt under this piece all the way across at intervals (5 pieces) and (knock on wood), I have not heard it since. It has been very cold here and I have driven on rough roads. Just thought I would pass this on for anyone having this trouble.

You can lift it enough to put felt under it using a flat blade screwdriver. Just carefully lift it as you go. I used velcro strips which have glue on the back, but plain felt will probably stay.
