2000 ML320
Timing Belt
Happy New Year! What are some symptoms that your timing chain/belt is going bad on 2000 Ml320? So far the wheel vibrates when idling, slow acceleration unless I floor it, and when idling it is normally at 1000 rpm, now it sit at 500.

No belt on these, all have chain. Your symptoms do not point to a timing chain but an ignition or fuel injector in need of maint. Have it read out for faults, see whats due for refreshing like plugs or wires or perhaps an injector.

Timing chain failure symptoms. As of now I hear it whirring around loud then quiet, loud then quiet, loudest at cold start. Wonder if it's the tensioner that needs to be changed or if it's the oil needing to change less than 5k miles to change appointment (royal purple- 0w 40, hawaii)
