Changing oil and filter question?

As you can tell i am a newbie. I am looking to buy a 1998 ML 320 with 75k miles and want to service it my self. i was wondering what oil weight to use (Prefferably Mobil 1)? How many quarts does it consume. It isnt coming with a owners manual so i have no idea what the specs are. Also how do i reset the service reminder on the instrument cluster?thanks

Welcome to the forums. The ML320 uses 8 quarts of oil, preferably Mobil 1 synthetic. To reset the FSS, follow this procedure. With the engine off and key on, double click the trip odometer knob on the cluster and hold knob down (click-hold). While holding knob down, turn the key off and quickly back on, still leaving the engine off. After approx. 10 secs, the display will read 10000 miles to next service.

MB recommends 0W-40 Mobil synthetic.
