Navigation question
What is necessary to make my navigation functional on my 02 ML320?
we have the navigation option, but dont have the CD slot in the back of the unit and we also dont have the navigation disk.
only have cassette slot in back of head unit.
Can we just get the CD slot and plug into space behind unit *above cassette* and pop in navigation disk?
Wondering so we dont have to buy a whole complete new unit...

the CD changing is really expensive, and they dont work well..
I dont knwo about most users but mine didnt come with navi,
but it came with 6 cd changer in the rear, Only thing is that the CD change doesnt work well. it jams and never load, and to fix it i hit the cd change a couple of times to get it working, but after a couple days, same problem happen again.
MB canada wanted 600 for the cd changer aloneHAHA, trust me you do not want to pay that much. Better off getting Aftermartker DVD NAVI for 1000 dollars, and be able to have quality cross over, Navigation, DVD and pls xbox or ps2 console...
And trust me the sound quality would be much better.

well thats not really what i wanted to know.Right now i have just the radio with cd player in the back of the truck.It also has a cassette player behind the face of the head unit.What will it take to go to a full nav set-up?
Do i have to buy a complete head unit or just get nav cd unit that mounts behind the head unit face above the cassette player?Is there also a GPS reciever envolved.And how about the radio antenna.Is it ready for GPS?

cmitch: This guy on ebay is only selling the cd portion of the deal if you read carefully what he advertises.That should be the part that mounts behind the face and above the cassette player.Would that be enough to make the nav functional?Also would need the cd's for it,but no big deal there.

why dont you ask the local mercedes dealship to see what you need exactly.
i doubt they would charge you for questions right?
i mean no offence, im glad your asking on the forum also, but the amount of responses you get here takes much longer then you would get by going to a dealship to ask them,
at least benz would give you a quote on the navi and maybe even tell you what you need exactly
