Is this normal (heater fan and heated seats)?
I recently purchased a 98 ML320 and I've noticed two problems (?) and was wondering if these are normal for this vehicle model.
(1) The heater/AC fan is VERY noisy for all but the lowest setting, as though it is out of balance and/or is rubbing against something. If this is not normal, can anyone tell me exactly where the fan is and how much trouble it is to replace it?
(2) With the heated front seats, the seat backs seem to heat up much more quickly and get much warmer than the seat bottoms. Is this normal, or could it be that seat bottom heater elements are burned out?
Thanks!

The blower motor should not be that noisy. It may need just a simple cleaning. Sometimes debris builds up on the fan and causes this noise. As for the seats, I don't know what to tell you. I know the seats on my 99 ML430 seem to heat evenly.
