Muffler Question

Hi guys, i have a 2001 ML320 with 67,000 miles. It's in need of a new exhaust and im getting ready to buy it but not sure which part. From this diagram it shows there are two, which part number do I need? What do they mean by "after chassis" and "before chassis"?

I think it is referring to your chassis number. If so, you can look at your VIN number and the last 6 digits after the "A" should be your chassis number. So get the part depending on if your number is bigger then or smaller than 289559.

Best to call Rock Auto and confirm.
