Power Steering Goes Boom...Again...
Opened the hood and there is power steering fluid spray covering the engine, hoodliner, belts and pullies. Just how much of this will MB cover to clean? The truck has 17k on it, had a small leak a few months back that was repaired and now this, just a week after the coolant began dumping.
Think I need to get more serious about an H2 or new Volvo SUV...
To top it off...no loaner. I just can't win...

... The truck has 17k on it, had a small leak a few months back that was repaired and now this, just a week after the coolant began dumping......
Fresh scratch 3 inches long underneath the door handle from the idiot that obviously towed the car...
Mud covered outer door handle...
Mud covered floor carpeting, not the thick winter mb mat, 3 areas of the floor carpet ground in nicely...
Mud smeared all over the leather on the door panel and the door pull...
The attempt to clean up the fluid all over the engine bay led to a smearing of it all over the place, still soaking the belts and pulleys nicely. And, the power steering is making a god awful surging/low volume squealing at all speeds, so it sounds like there is more to the fix than performed thus far or the system has been compromised. Counting the days until it goes boom, again.
Does anyone else hate it when people stand on the silver Mercedes Benz logo'd sill covers when they get in/out of your car, too? My wife and I have no issue keeping them nice, but the dealer always uses them as a step. I love the fresh scrapes and scratches they came home with this time, too.
Complained to my service manager regarding the condition of the vehicle on return and he arranged for a full detail. Not what I wanted or asked for, I merely asked for the towing company to be called and complained to for the entire adventure. They insisted a detail is in order, which I still disagree with. I don't need it, I'd rather have care taken to treat my car the way I do the first go round.
