P0170 & P0173 --- No Acceleration

I'm a new member and my 2000 ML320 has a problem - ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

All of a sudden, the car won't accelerate. It starts fine and idles wonderfully, but when you press the gas pedal, it sputters and will not accelerate. If you let up on the accelerator pedal, it returns to a wonderful idle. Makes no difference if the engine is cold or warmed up.

I received these two error codes (only):

- P0170 Fuel Trim (Bank 1)
- P0173 Fuel Trim (Bank 2)

This morning I replaced my MAF (the car has 119K and the MAF has never been cleaned or replaced). Unfortunately, the problem is still there.

Two months ago, I successfully replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor and until last week, it's run very well.

Any Ideas will be very welcome!

Thank you!

could be your fuel pump...
The MAF, CPS & Fuel Pump are all critical to any fuel injection system.
They all are at the end of their life at around 120K miles..on the ML

I did my MAF at 90K miles, and am now getting the CPS & Fuel pump done at 130K miles..

The CPS eventually failed me one day....took it in the shop, and the fuel pressure on the rail was found to be way below spec., so the fuel pump is getting replaced too..
