2002 ML 320
Starting and Stalling

Just last week I've been experiencing trouble w/ my 2002 ml320.
I drove about 5 miles to the store ,after 5 minutes try to restart it failed, turning over pretty good and even tried to jump w/ battery back up,but still would not start, after 10 min, started back up and died showing a chk engine light.I tried it again after a few minutes and started fine w/ engine light on.Me and my wife were able to drive 20 miles to home.I stop the engine and restarted, started fine and chk engine light is no longer there.
But I think problem is worsening, because it stalled while at the stop signal. But after 20-30 minutes it's started back up fine. Thanks to some good guys out there who help us pushed our truck to a gasoline station. We finally get home @ 12 midnight.
Just so worried about this and trying to find out who had the same experienced who can share their experienced and their expertice how to fix it.It just so much for me to spend an expensive shop fee now a days.
Thanks...

have had a problem like this.

I had a problem like this.
It was found to be the cranke case position sensor.
his is located on the LH side of the engine,
It is fitted in the bell howsing behind the engine.

When its hot this sensor can go out of tollerance and send
missleadeing info to the engine managment modual.

If it is this you must replace it.

I have been told that, if when you turn over the engine
and the tacho on the dash does not show any sign of
movment this may indicate that this is the problem.

I have a short term fix of applying a wet rag to cool the
sensor down to get it going but just for a short term fix.

Thanks and good luck.
