Loud Lifters

My 05 ML 500 with 33k on it has the loud tick on start-up which I believe is the lifters. It only makes the noise if the truck has sat for 2+ hours. Is there any oil additive I can put in it to have it stay quiet so I can just get rid of this POS?

10' GLK
you can try a short OCI with 5W30 synthetic oil or I tried MMO in the crank before. Recently I ran a bottle of Lubro Moly flush and the engine is a lot more rev happy. YMMV !

on ml500 if the ticking goes away after it has warmed up then it is carbon build up but if it it there all the time then it is a lifter. make sure you are using 91 oct
