Talking 1999 ML430 Creaking from underneath only when in DRIVE.
I recently purchased a 1999 ML430 as a second vehicle and have noticed a creaking noise from underneath but only when in drive. The noise disapppears in reverse or nuetral. Any ideas what this may be?

2005 E500 4matic, 99 ML 430, 90 E300
Most likely one of two items. The torsions bar springs or the rear shocks.

Thanks for the info. I tried a little silicon lubricant and the noise seems to have subsided. Will probably replace the bushings soon.
