Thumbs up ML 350 Headrest Remove and Install Headrest DVD Player.

I bought a Sony DVD ($229 incl. shipping) from ebay, and want to install it in the new ML350 2009. Can someone help me out with,
(a) How to remove headrest from the ML 350 ?
(b) How to connect the new DVD headrest ?
- Pull the wires through seats, (no idea if they go through an ML seat as well ?)
- Final hookup - (step-by-step) for the new car

I am really nervous to just pull things apart in the brand new car, and believe this post should also help other DVD aspiring ML owners !

Thanks guys,

I shall post step by step pictures if instructions are provided.

hi Rob, its 2x7" inch headrest dvd player from SONY with built in FM transmitter. It came with 2x audio video output and input cables. The DVD is directly built into the headset beneath the 7" inch screens.

Is there a shop you can take it to?

They would know how to most appropriate handle the install.

OK guys, here is what I know. Mercedes ML 2006 and beyond come with active headrests, so installing a monitor in it is not advised and voids the warranty. Instead I am advised to place in overhead DVD monitors or behind the headrest DVD monitor (which runs about $1499 for Mercedes compatible one).

For those who still want to evaluate their situation for other cars, the video of the same is here --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2mo-...eature=related

Hope this helps and makes up for the meaningful feedback for this site.

Tips of Install/split Car Headrest Dvd Player

HI Guys,
The following information is only for reference :

Toyota Crown in the split method:
1: The first audio console next to pull out of two plaques;
2: The demolition of the 4 into the washer next to the screw 10;
3: you can sound out the whole (note: Don't to scrape the bottom of the washer into the hanging files mahogany bar and the car decoration)

But how to install the headrest car DVD ?

See the following instructions. It is easier. But if you are not understand, you had to ask professional for help.

1. Remove the car headrest from the car and take it to a stable work area.

2. Take off the covering of the headrest to expose the foam underside.

3. Hold the DVD monitor against the backside of the headrest. Take a pen or pencil and trace around the

monitor.

4. Cut around the outline with a utility knife. There is most likely a piece of plastic in the middle of the

headrest. Cut until you hit this piece of plastic, then remove all the from from inside the outline of the

monitor.

5. Place the cloth back onto the car headrest. Push the cloth in around the new hold of the headrest. Use

your utility knife to cut around this hole, exposing the inside of the headrest.

6. Place 2-inch wide velcro strips along the inside of the headrest. If the Velcro has a tape side on the

back you can simply press it into place. If not, you have to glue it and wait for the glue to dry, which can

take a few hours. Both kinds of Velcro strips can be found at your local home improvement store.

7. Apply 2-inch Velcro strips to the back of the DVD monitor. Press this into the hole of the headrest, and

the monitor sticks into it. Thread the cable for the monitor along side the metal poles that connect the headrest to the seat.

8. Place the headrest back onto the car seat. The wire can then either be fed through the back side of the car seat or wherever the DVD player is positioned.

These are the basic steps to install headrest car DVD player . Espow are one of the type of it
