2002 ML Fog light question
2002 has the Auto light option, but you can not turn your fog lights on when it is in the Auto light position. On the 2003 MLs you can use the fog lights while in the Auto position. Does anyone know if there is a software update or a way to get this feature on the 2002 ML??

I've asked this question to 2 MB dealers, along with the question of if daytime running lights can be activated, as advertised in 2002 sales literature. Both dealers had no clue, which was no big surprise. It never ceases to amaze me at how clueless most MB dealers are. I'm going to e-mail MBUSA, but in my experience, they usually know less than their dealers about issues like this.

Daytime Running Lamps
I was reading this on the alldatadiy database. It is possible to activate daytime running lamps (DRL) on model year 2002 and 2003 vehicle.
This has to be done at the dealership using the Star Diagnosis System (SDS).

To the best of my knowledge there is no software update or change on the 02's to allow the use of the fogs in the auto position. Switch must be in the on position. Daylight running lights may be activated on the 02, but why would you want them unless required by your laws (Canada).
