How to Remove ignition key assembly
My ignition key doesn't turn well without sticking and the key-removed switch doesn't work. How do I take the ignition tumbler assembly out to clean?

Just as a follow-up, I had the ignition tumblers be-built by the dealer for a little over $200 but the steering wheel lock is broken. Is there a DIY prcedure for replacing the steering lock, or should I have the dealer perform the job?

I'm having a little trouble understanding these two posts. You had this problem 3 yrs. ago and you are still having the problem?

The issue started 3 years ago but finally got to the point that I had the tumblers re-built. However replacing the tumblers did not alleviate the problem of the car not acknowledging the fact that I've pulled the key from the ignition, therefor ethe remote locking mechanism is disabled and the vehicle beeps at me telling me I forgot to pull the key.

If the above occurs, then your problem is with the ignition switch (electrical part) which is less than $20 at the dealer. Part #168 545 10 04.
