lowering your ml...
ive been trying to get someone to lower my ml for the past few days now and everyone has a different estimate. can anyone here recommend a shop in the sf bay area that can do it? i have the springs already, just need to install them and adjust the torsion bars.

The rate varies. I have gotten quotes from 3 to 5 hrs for the job. I changed the springs last year and it took the guy about 4 hrs. Yesterday I just changed the shocks and it again took almost 4 hours for the rears. Depending on mileage, I recommend you change the shocks at this time as well since the OEM shocks will not last too much longer.
Have someone change the rears and turn the torsion bars yourself.

I forget which way to turn them. The best resource I got was from the ML forum at mbnz.org Do a search there.
