New Tranny 1998 ML320
All-
Seems like my 2010 new year is starting off bad already!! I live in Marietta, took my ML320 to Cottmans on Cobb Prkwy they told me my tranny is shot, 17 codes, and need O2 sensor replacement!! The cost.........$3500-$4500. If anyone in the MBWorld can point me in the right direction of "lower cost" please respond ASAP!!
The truck is paid for, havent had any major issues before, and I would love to keep it.

Junk yard transmission but then you could get something as bad or worse than you have. The price you quated in not very high for a transmission, The o2 sensor is a routine maint item. You do not say how many miles on your 12 year old truck???

Well with the age and mileage on your ML it makes no financial sense to have an MB reman or new trans installed. If it were me I would first confirm what is bad in the trans. I then would consider a repair or a junkyard trans. Some of these are warranted for a very short time period. Other than that I would trade or scrap the vehicle.
