Heated Seats Not Working

It was -9 F here yesterday in Central Oregon, and of course, both heated seats on our 2001 ML320 quit working on the same morning one week ago. There are 2 relays under each front seat. Each pair must control the low and the high settings. Both lights for each seat still go on and all four relays make their usual noise when the switches on the dashboard are activated. All fuses under the hood seem fine. Mercedes didn't have any idea when I stopped in yesterday and talked with one of their techs - they're good here with free advice, but said they would need to have the car on this one. Any ideas? Both seats stopped working on the same day, so I doubt it's the seats. Is there a circuit breaker or fuse that supplies the high amperage to the seats that could be out? Low amp simply controls the relays themselves and that's obviously fine.

Thanks in advance,

Robert

Does your 2001 ML have the second fuse panel located in the passenger kick panel (by passenger's right foot)?
If so did you check that fuse panel?
If the realys are clicking then you should have power to the heater elements. One problem others have had is that placing objects under the seats can sometimes disconnect the heater elements plugs.
One other trouble shooting point. In the High Heat setting, two lights, do you have heat in the seat backs but not the bottom cushions or to other way around?

2002 ML320 Seat Heater

The driver's seat seat heater, cushion only, is broken. It heats up, but the corner of the seat gets SUPER hot. So, the dealer wants $555 for the part as they indicate the heating element is built-in to the leather seat cushion cover. Is this true? Is that price right? HELP......cold butt cheeks.

I bought my cover a two years ago and it was around $400....so it sounds about right considering inflation.
