Another 1999 ML320 will not start intermitently
This has been an ongoing problem for the last year, but as of late, it is happening more often that I like. The car has been at the dealer for about 7 days now. I would drive a few miles to a store or work, when I get back in the car it will not crank over. I would have to wait 20-60 minutes before it will crank and start the car. I also have to re-enter the radio security code. Only change I did to my 1999 ML320 is change the battery last month.
Here are my symptoms when the problem happens.
1. Car will not crank.
2. Radio Resets
3. When key is on the ON position and I press my brakes I see the radio turn off and resets
4. Wait between 20-60 minutes and car would start.

Hi there i had a similar problem with my ml ,,the only difference was i had no issue's with the radio,,
the car just started when it wanted to and now and again i had to wait 10-20min before trying again,,I changed the CPS (CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR),after reading a lot about it on this forum,,, since i put it in ive had no starting problems ,it cost about £20 from ebay,,and if your in the uk and have a right hand drive car like mine its a 2-5min job i read a lot about it being tricky to get to on the left hand drive models still a easy diy but a bit more tricky,,hard to see and i read you better have a magnetic pick up tool because you will drop the screw,,,
