Cool 2000 ML320 in Curacao- Question

Hi all, I recently bought a 2000 ML320 after moving to the island of Curacao. So far I've replaced the radiator, all tie rods (inner and ends,) the engine supports, tranny supports, differential support kit, and both control arms. I'm in the process of getting a new power steering pump and valve cover gaskets and head gaskets. (Everything must be smuggled in the suitcases of loved ones who travel down, so they love being my mule! I didn't make anyone pack the radiator- that I bought legitimately here!)

The roads here are very rough, thus the need for all the suspension work. I still find the ride extremely rough though. It seems to be coming from the rear, very hard bouncing on bumps. I would say it rides like a buggy.

My question is: should I replace the rear shocks? And if so, the Bilsteins or the OES genuine?
