Engine Startup Problems
Hello,
I have a 2002 ML320. Every day when I start up the car, there is a huge whining noise, and the tachometer goes up to around 1500 RPM and stays there. When I put the car into gear, the noises still persist, and when I turn the wheel, there is an even BIGGER whining noise! It's annoying to hear it every day when it starts up. The noise fades out after the engine warms up sufficiently, but it hasn't been very cold lately, so I do not know the cause of this problem!

hi there if you turn your steering wheel and get a loud whining noise it would normally mean something to do with your power steering i would start with checking your power steering fluidyou may need to top it upim not sure if thst would affect the idle,,hmmm
