Shimmy question
My ML430 (only had it 3 weeks) runs like a champ. The only issue i have is that when i get up around 80 the front starts to shimmy. There is no alignment issue as i can take my hand off the wheel at any speed and she tracks as straight as an arrow. Also if i accelerate hard i can run up to 80 and beyond with no shimmy but when i let off the gass to cruise then it will. I did see that the previous owner just replaced the sway bar links.
Could this issue be as simple as unbalanced wheels? The tires are getting pretty worn and it wouldnt surprise me if they havent been rotated and balanced in a while.

I would definitely be thinking tires....out of round, out of balance, or even cupping....just went through this with a set of Goodyear Assurance tires on a differnet vehicle. The right side tires were cupped and I never felt it until 75 mph or so.....
