My trip computer stopped working other than staying constantly backlit with the word "on" on the screen. It sounds like it has given up the ghost but somebody may have some information I’m not aware of.

Have you looked at the fuse? Not sure but worth a shot. Also, disconnect it and let sit for a while then reconnect.
