power steering on a 1998 ml320
Hey I recently purchased an 1998 ml320 off of a friend and it has a power steering problem. I think the pump needs to be replaced. I have recently read up on a couple forums that there was a recall on this. Am I still eligeable to have this fixed at the mb dealer? Please inform me on this thank you!

For anything other than the old recall for a hose clamp there is no warranty left on your 12 year old car. What gave you the thoughts that you could get it done at a dealers for free. Certainly a dealer will fix it but its going to be on your nickle.

Most issues are caused by the leaking hose...fuild gets low...causes problems with the pump itself. I had to replace my pump for $160...stealer replaced the hose too. Its def a job you can do yourself...there are a ton of DIYs on this site.
