Slight Vibration at certain speeds - help.
I have a 2003 ML350 with 98,000km on it.
A while ago I got new tires, which led me to dicsover what i belive to be a vibration in the driveline. (Bridgestone Dueller ...something) I had the new tires rebalanced 2 times to make sure it was not the tires. They are very smooth bringing out the imperfections that I did not feel before.
This leads me to the fact that I now have a very slight vibration when driving around 60km/h (about 40 miles) and at around 110km/h (about70miles). It is ever so slight but it is is there. It drives me nuts and I have to just not think about it. The symptom doesnt change by turning, accelerating or decelerating.
I had a 2 mechanics try it out and they could not feel it or knew what it was. Another one said yes I feel something there but I dont know what it could be without a lot of searching and cost.
But I know it is not smooth as it should be. I am starting to notice it more at other speeds too.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Fred

Check your drive shaft support bearing in the middle of the truck...it may be about ready to fail...a vibration would be the symptom. Additionally, it could be the tranny mounts, or motor mounts...

The centre hanging bearing was replaced about 1 year ago under warranty due to noise. So maybe it is the mounts.
