Ml55

Does anyone who if ML55 have same quality and reliability issues as ML320 and 430. I own a 2000 ML 320 and have had my share of quality and reliability issues, though all covered under warranty. I am thinking of trading mine in for a 2000 ML55 (instead of a 2003 ML320) but am a little hesitant on spending that much more money and still ending up with same quality issues.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I think overall, the quality and reliability is quite high. Like any production macine, there's going to be a certain amount of isolated issues. I had a 2000 ML320 that was perfect, never one problem. I now have a 2003 ML500, also great, no issues.

It could be argued that the ML55, being a very limited production vehicle from the tuner division, could have a higher incidence of repairs than the general production cars. Or, does it mean that the limited numbers get greater attention to detail, & hence fewer repairs than normal?

Who knows. But, I think the newer ML's, in general, are very good vehilcles.

FWIW, YMMV

Similar small issues like machine gun locks, window switches, sunroof insulation, brake switch etc. in my 2000 ML55.

Nope, I bought from an independent dealer that specializes in MBs and BMWs that come off lease.

The dealer pricing was ridiculous given the real market.
