Front air bag error: B1871-005
I recently went to the dealer to get a readout of the SRS light I was experiencing on the ML. Two errors were returned, one was B1315 (front seat child seat recognition), which has been solved. The other was B1871-005: The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/10 (Right font side airbag ignition squib) is too low.
I imagine this airbag will need to be tested and/or replaced. Does anyone have any ideas how this can be done (ie. does anyone have a service manual that would outline the process for a MB tech)? I would like to first remove the squib (procedure?) to test it (what should the resistance value be?).
If anyone can provide some guidance, it would be greatly appreciated.
