Front end creak

Have a very annoying front end noise, a loud creaking at slow speeds, coming from the passenger side, directly behind the front wheel, but very hard to pinpoint. It disappeared during the colder months, but has re-appeared now that the weather is warming up.

I had the front shocks replaced, but this did not solve the problem. I have used silicon spray to the obvious bushing locations, but must not be hitting the correct spot or it is just not the problem. Also, it disappears in the rain.

Any ideas or references to threads is appreciated. Thanks,

Kevin

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Lower Control arm bushings?
Upper control arm bushings?

It almost sounds like a bad bushing somewhere. Noise goes away when the bushing gets wet, comes back when dry.

sounds like the clips that are on your torsion bars are cracked. very common on the 163.

I had the same issue. I replaced teh front Torsion bar shims. MB has a kit for it. Got an alignment and no more squeek.

... correct! Very common issue. In most cases, you can remove the adjuster in near the cross member and lube it. But you are correct, the shim and lube will stop it..

Its quite an annoying sound and a bit embarrassing....
