Double take on locks
We have had an ML320 since 1999. 6 months after owning the vehicle the locks started playing up and all were replaced under warrantee.
Coming up to 4 years of owning the vehicle, the locks again are showing signs of failure . When setting off and the locks automatically "locking" the mechanisms regularly do a double take: "clunk...clunk" rather than a single "clunk". This seems to happen most frequently in warmer weather.
Any ideas? Do other owners experience this?

Do all the doors do this, or is it just one door? If it's just one, the door latch will need to be replaced on that door. If it's all of them, first check the gas door locking pin to see if it's working properly and engaging the hole on the gas door. If that is okay, the exterior tailgate handle will need to be replaced.
