sqeaking noise coming from back of car
just after winter seems to be ending i am noticing a noise coming from the back of my '99 ML320 when i go over bumps. it might have somehting to do with the suspension, most probably, considering the fact that it only makes the noise when the back axle bounces. the noise is much much loader when the windows are open, so i am under the impression that it is coming from underneath the car but can't really tell from what side. i took a look underneath the car, but i don't see anything unusual. anyone know what i can do to furthur diagnose this problem?

I would lift the car on a jack. I had the same squeaking noise coming from back driver side wheel of my '00ML320 going over bumps. I lifted the back driver side wheel to check brake pads and it made some horrendous noises and had it looked at by the dealer. It turned out to be a bad strut (replaced at 32K miles under warranty).

I had an annoying noise from the back drivers side of my ML 320. I though it was my buschings. Instead I took it in and asked them to lube up the area. The noise is gone. It dried up. 1st you should check to see if the busching is cracked, if not grease it up. If it comes back in a month or so, then change it.
