brake light on and trans wont shift
I HAVE A 99 ML320, AT TIMES IT WONT SHIFT WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND IT STARTS BEEPING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT EXCEPT I STOP THE VEHICLE AND WAIT FOR FEW SECONDS AND RESTART. EVEN SO, SOMETIMES THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY AND THE VEHICLE WILL DRIVE NORMAL, BUT AT TIMES IT WON'T. SOME ONE SAID IT COULD BE THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. ANY HELP OUT THERE!!

I have that issue before but slightly different. When I floor the gas the tranny kick down then when I slow down to drive normally the throttle response is super slow. Need to restart the car to get the response normal again.
That fix was the tranny conductive plate. It was a $800 repair. It still does it once in a while be a lot less often.
